(Failure to comply with entry requirements will disqualify entry)

  • Artist must be a resident of Lane County.
  • Artist must be ages of 13 - 18 (including all students through 12th grade).
  • Only ONE work per artist may be entered. Photo entries must be submitted on CD or online at: www.jacobsgallery.org.
  • Work in any medium will be considered, with the exception of photocopies or giclée prints. [Note on giclée prints: If the giclée print is a representation of a piece of your artwork, like a painting or sculpture; that would not be an acceptable entry. However, a photographer might choose to use the giclée process to print an original image; such image would be an acceptable entry.]
  • Entry must be completed within one year of April 17, 2012.
  • Any entry submitted must be derived from original concept and design.
  • Your entry must be exhibit-ready. All surfaces must be dry and fixed, and have an appropriate means for hanging. If your work is selected and special instructions are required for its display, then you must submit these instructions with the work of art when it is delivered. [Note: Display instructions provided by the artist cannot be guaranteed. However, the show installers will do their best to honor the artist's display requests.]
  • Your work must be able to withstand normal handling.
  • If you are entering a piece of art which has special space and/or handling considerations, please indicate this on your entry form.

You may provide your art work for sale at the Talents of Tomorrow youth art show, but this is not a requirement. If you elect to place your art work for sale, please provide the Gallery with the sale price. If your art work is sold during the exhibition, Jacobs Gallery will retain a 45 percent commission on all sales; this is the standard gallery commission. If your work sells during the exhibition, you DO NOT need to come in on the art work pick-up date. Instead, a check will be mailed to you, approximately one week after the closing of the show.

If you elect not to provide your art work for public sale, then please include the insurance value on the entry form. The “insurance value” is the amount you would anticipate receiving if the piece were for sale (i.e., 55 percent of the sale price).

GUIDELINES: SELECTION PROCESS
A panel of three jurors will independently select works for exhibition in the 2012 Talents of Tomorrow youth art show. To ensure an exciting and balanced exhibit jurors are instructed to make selections which will showcase a sampling of some of the best recent work created by young Lane County artists. The jurors reserve the right to accept or reject any entry. The 2012 Talents of Tomorrow youth art show juror's will be listed online when they have been finally chosen.
